Biography, Michael Kloeti

After a four-year apprenticeship and working as Sous Chef near his native Switzerland, Michael Kloeti grew interested in enriching his classical education with that of other cultures. In 1993, he and his wife, Laura, a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, moved to New York City. Michael then joined Gray Kunz at Lespinasse Restaurant during which time the restaurant received four stars from the New York Times. Michael has also worked as Sous Chef at the Lodge at Koele Resort in Lanai, Hawaii, and as Chef de Cuisine at the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, to mention a few.

The decision to raise their family in Vermont led them to their long awaited dream…Opened in 2002, Michael's on the Hill Restaurant offers innovative European cuisine with the perfect blend of American Regional influence. As members of the Vermont Fresh Network, the use of local, fresh products are of premier importance. Chef Michael was named 2007 Chef of the Year by the Vermont Hospitality Council.

Learn to make Gnocchi in a hands-on class lead by Chef Michael.

This class is offered on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, running from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Class availability is dependent upon Chef Michael's availability and the season.

Instruction cost: $150 for one person or a couple.
Food cost: $12 per person.
Wine pairing cost (optional): $8 per person.

Option 5: Hors d'Oeuvres

Chef Michael will teach how to make simple and elegant hors d'oeuvres that will allow freedom through advanced preparation so you are able to both enjoy your party and impress your guests. Class includes preparation of 4 different hors d'oeuvres. (other hors d'oeuvre options available on a custom basis)

A gourmet dinner with friends is much more enjoyable if it is spent with friends, and not in the kitchen!
