The Bragg family has been producing syrup
for eight generations, and they do it the old-fashioned
way—collecting with buckets and boiling with wood. If you are
lucky enough to visit the Bragg Farm during the sugaring season
(generally March & early April), you can see, first-hand, the sap
from the sugar maples being boiled into pure Vermont maple syrup,
enjoy a Vermont tradition called “Sugar On Snow,” and even walk
through “the sugarbush,” where 2000 collecting buckets are hung.
If you can’t make it during sugaring season, you are still
welcome to visit year-round and without an appointment.

But if you allow us to make a special Fun for
Foodies appointment for you at any other time of year, owner Doug
Bragg will plan to cook up some Maple Cream during your visit.
It’s a sweet treat that is best enjoyed on warm biscuits, English
muffins, waffles, or as a frosting for cakes, cupcakes, and
doughnuts. You’ll enjoy a taste of both maple cream and the
different grades of maple syrup, tour the sugarhouse, and view a
film about how maple syrup is made. Also included are two maple
creemee cones (a must for any foodie visiting Vermont), a
wonderful maple cookbook (with a lot more than just breakfast
recipes), and a jar of maple cream to take home. They have a
lovely gift shop, so you’ll probably end up leaving with more than
that, but that’s what’s included in our Maple Sugarhouse Visit!
Take advantage of the fact that they have all the grades of syrup
offered in a variety of packaging at direct-from-the-sugarhouse
prices. 72 hours’ notice required; appointments are subject to
Doug’s schedule.
$38 per person or couple (Location is South
40 minutes)
CANCELLATION POLICY: Non-refundable when cancelled or re-scheduled with less than 72
hours’ notice. |
