
Policies
Minimum Stay Requirements:
2 nights weekends (i.e. if your stay includes Friday or Saturday night); 2 nights during Fall foliage season (refer to Spring/Summer/Fall High Season in the Rate Chart); 3 nights President's Day or Columbus Day weekends; 3 nights during the Christmas/New Year's period (refer to Winter High Season in the Rate Chart).
Presidents' Day Weekend: Due to extremely high demand, there is a $50 per night (plus applicable taxes) surcharge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights of Presidents' Day Weekend. However, our regular 15-day cancellation policy will apply.
Check-in and Checkout:
Check-in time is 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If you will be arriving later than 9:00 PM, please call ahead so we may explain our late check-in procedure. Checkout time on your day of departure is 11:00 am.
Deposits:
Upon making a reservation, a 50% deposit (100% in the case of a one-night stay), including tax, will be charged to your credit or charge card to guarantee your reservation. Reservations are not held without a deposit. Any Inn-Dulgent Extras are charged for at the time they are ordered.
Cancellations:
Should you have to change or cancel your reservation for any reason, we require at least 15 days' advance notice (30 days' notice for high season). With the required amount of notice, we will refund your deposit, less a 5% processing fee. For reservations cancelled within 15 days (or 30 days for high season) of your reserved arrival date, you will be charged for the full amount of the reserved stay, unless we are able to re-book your room. If we are able to re-book your room, we will refund the re-booked portion, less the 5% processing fee.
Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly, and we do not over-book, as large hotels do. We must enforce our cancellation policy. The only exceptions are if the airports you are traveling through are closed or if state police along your driving route are recommending that people stay off the roads due to very bad weather. Otherwise, we expect you to honor your reservation. If you are worried about having to cancel for any reason, we recommend you purchase travel insurance through a third party for your own financial protection.

Smoking Policy:
THIS IS A NON-SMOKING INN. Smoking is ONLY permitted in two designated outdoor areas, regardless of the weather. Those choosing to disregard our policy will be asked to leave without refund, and a $50 cleaning fee will be charged to the credit or charge card on file, as well as an extra night's charges, if necessary, in order to air the room to make it acceptable for incoming guests.
Payment Options:
Payment in full is expected at check-in. Accepted methods of payment are: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash, money orders, and travelers' cheques. Personal or business checks are not accepted.
Group & Travel Agent Policy:
We do not allow groups to rent out the Inn (or even more than four rooms) for gatherings and weddings. We do not pay travel agent commissions, nor do we have special travel agent rates.
Additional Policies & Information:
- Stone Hill Inn is not appropriate for children.
- We cannot accommodate guest pets.
- We do NOT add a service charge to your bill, as is common in the region. Please keep this in mind when comparing rates. Gratuities for our housekeeping staff are left to your discretion.
- The common areas of the Inn are wheelchair accessible. One guest room, The Notch, is wheelchair accessible. Please inquire.
- Gift certificates are available. They make much-appreciated gifts for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, thank-you's, retirement, or any special occasion! Even with gift certificates, minimum stays must be observed.
